MDC Youth Assembly mourns Dr Mudzingwa: Deputy President Condolence message to the Mudzingwa family

Waterfalls, Thursday 12 April 2012. On behalf of MDC Youth Assembly and all the young people of Zimbabwe I would like to join the whole nation in mourning the death of the National Hero Dr Tichaona Mudzingwa the deputy minister of Transport. I received the massage of this untimely death with great distress and soreness. He was one of the Zimbabwe’s best and dedicated sons of the soil. His death is not only a loss to the Mudzingwa family but also to the entire nation especially the young people.
Hero, liberator Dr Mudzingwa
Founder member of MDC, Senator, deputy minister of Transport, a professional Doctor as well as a father to most us who are still growing in politics. A veteran freedom fighter, Dr Mudzingwa was an inspirational leader. He was a soft and very calculative politician.
Dr Mudzingwa started participating in political activities as a youth in January 1960 while in Gweru as a student at Fletcher High school. He started as a member of the youth wing of the National Democratic Party (NDP). The MDC Youth Assembly salutes the life and character of Dr Mudzingwa, who participated in the liberation war, fighting the colonial settler repressive regime, and from 1999 he was heavily involved in fighting for the freedom and total emancipation of Zimbabweans’ ordinary people, this time under a black irresponsible and corrupt regime. He was allergic to oppression, suppression of sons and daughters of Zimbabwe.
A former member of the Military High Command during the liberation war from 1975, he underwent serious military training as a guerrilla fighter in Mozambique, Tanzania and Zambia. Born in Buhera in 1942, a Retired Army Colonel of the Zimbabwe National Army, Dr Mudzingwa was Zimbabwe’s first specialist war surgeon. The nation has lost a renowned, selfless, dedicated fighter par excellence.
As young people of Zimbabwe we emulate his life and contribution to the nation’s development agenda. I would like also to encourage the Mudzingwa family to remain united in these trying times and look to God himself, the Alpha and Omega of our lives. We will remain resolute and focused as a party to accomplish what you have started with President Dr Morgan Tsvangirai, the late Isaac Matongo, Learnmore Jongwe and other visionaries and leaders.
May his soul rest in eternal peace. We will miss you our dear father, mentor, fighter and leader.
Go well soldier!!!
For and on behalf of the young people of Zimbabwe
Costa Machingauta
MDCYA Deputy President
